A little rest after the cancer race.

There they are..
May 26th, 2010 - They are now on the lake!
Very quiet and cold this Febuary Sunday.

The theme for the 2009 cruise weekend was a fallback to the 70's with many dresssed up as young hippies.
As the many photos show, a good time was had by all.

For those that are interested, you can view some spectacular videos taken of races in July and August, as well as a capturing of the club spirit after a race. This video was shown at the corn roast.

Amorce preparing to start. Alone at the starting line in a sudden gust of 20 knots.

A wild finish for Jeitinho. She finished the race against cancer in 1 hour and 52 minutes, preceded by four C&C 25's, Defiant, Born to Run, Youp and Marinik II

Peter McDougall, on Defiant, succeeded in finishing the course in 1 hour, 44 minutes and 48 seconds, with the aid of his crew Marc Philibert. Peter declared that the win was very much a team effort.

Few members take advantage of the evening to sail, but the racers do so often and sometimes are spoiled by the spectacular evenings and sunsets. Here the sky is menacing but the outing was a ral pleasure.

A calm start. Sometimes a latecomer has to increase his concentration all along the course to have a chance to place.

Our gentle official Lilly before the start that confused some of the racing participants.
Actually it was quite clear and simple ........if we enlarge the photo.
She was assisting José and Michel, possibly in search of a career ???

Following the races, the crews reunite to discuss the race in a spirit of friendship. We hear all kinds of stories. Tactical successes, errors, excuses and sometimes some friendly ribbing, but always in good humour and fellowship.
