Night Race CVMO La Nocturne

  •       Starting and finishing in front of the municipal wharf at Oka.
  • Starting time 8:00 PM
  • Length approximately 4 hours depending upon the wind
  • Wine, beer and cheeses social at CVMO afterwards

Race rules La Nocturne

  • Eligibility: Sailboats must have a PHRF handicap of SLVRYA
  • Rules: The race is a pursuit race and the starting times depend on each boat's handicap.
  • White sails or spinnaker. with the proper identification and handicap rating to suit.
  • Navigation lights must be on.
  • Watch our for the ferries.
  • White flag required on backstay for white sails.

Course for the night race La Nocturne

  • Course: The course will be chosen as a function of the strength of the wind. The race should last about 4 hours. The course (either A or B) will be noted on the committee boat and announced on the radio channel 68 from time to time. The course cannot be shortened during the race.
  • Course A: 11.5 nautical miles
  • Leave H33 to starboard
  • Leave CAD to port
  • Leave E to port
  • Leave CAD to starboard
  • Leave H33 to port
  • Course B: 7.5 nautical miles
  • Leave H33 to starboard
  • Leave CAD to port
  • Leave H33 to port
  • Finish line for both courses between the committe boat and a yellow floating buoy.
